What do you mean by good pc games? For me Hand Of Fate is a great PC game. Many people will disagree...
I still believe, that Starcraft BroodWar is a great PC game, but it is 1996 if i am not mistaken.
If we are talking about newish games, try Shadow Of Mordor, the new Tomb Raide (without TressFX, obviously), try Crysis 1, 2 or even 3 (not on max settings, obviously), try FarCry 3, that imho is the same as FarCry4, just with better story and not so hardware demanding. Try Trine and Trine 2. Try Limbo. Try Transistor, Bastion, Play Skyrim with a couple of visual mods to make it up to date. If he likes to play some short casual games from time to time, try Ironcast. Its a beautiful 2D Match 3 rogue like with steampunk mechs. He likes strategy? Cities Skylines. Freaking Dark Souls if he is masochist still looks gorgeous. May be not Crysis level of visual quality, but dam, that game is beautiful aesthetically. If only i was a masochist and wanted to punish myself...
What, look good graphically? uh, secrets of raetikon, ethan carter and beseige (turn DOF on looks lovely) are three I like the appearance of off the top of my head.
Tomb Raider, Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light, Trine trilogy, for starters.

Welcome to the world of skyrim texture mods.
Alien: Isolation was pretty gorgeous for the setting.
Other than that, I love the looks of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, TRI, Trine series, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery (if you enjoy modern pixel art as much as I do), etc.
