Great PC for (Gaming, Editing, and Streaming?)

i was hoping this computer would (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/RFKywP)

  • play mostly every game on ultra with 60 fps while i record or stream (1440p resolution)

  • edit videos

  • i may also want to overclock the cpu and gpu

In my opinion, go X99. While those three Sammy 950s would smoke in a RAID setup, one or two is enough. I would go for two 980 Ti cards on your budget. You will get a lot more fidelity with streaming.

I would go with something like a 5820K and a MSI X99A SLI PLUS (or higher if you want) with one 950 PRO, with two 980 Tis. That one 950 will give you plenty of speed to edit footage and then can dump it to your, I assume, backup redundancy RAID.

Everything else is solid. Personally, I would bump up to a 850W PSU at least for SLI and a Platinum unit from EVGA will be still as good as that Titanium.

If you want to save a bit of cash you can get windows 10 for around $20 from kinguin. Paul did a video on this a few weeks back.

What RAID if any were you going for with all those drives?

You could drip the efficiency rating of that PSU and save a bit more cash.

As far as the CPU is concerned I'd go with the 4790k on a z97 platform over the 5820k and 6700k because it has better single core performance and the price/performance is great. Additionally, yes the 4790k is a quad core but it has 8 threads which is plenty for gaming and streaming.

In this case i would personaly go with X99 5820K or 5930K probably.
But it mainly depends on how much editing work you do on daily base.

The 6700K skylake will ofc be a better chip wenn it comes to gaming.
But in video editing the 5820K or 5930K with 2 extra cores 4 threads will be a benefit at that workload.
So it depends a bit on how much editing work you are planning to do.
The 6700K wil handle rendering also pretty well.
But if you do allot of editing work daily, then those extra cores on the 5820K or 5930K will definitely be a benefit for you

Do you have a budget in mind?

thanks for all the tips guys

(PreGameOut) - thanks for the tips

(ThatBootsGuy) - i was planning on using raid 0 for the 950's if i can... and i believe its raid 10 for the hard drives

(MisteryAngel) - id still go with the 6700k because the pc would be more for gaming the editing

budget - $2500-$3500
