Hi guys,
I got my girlfriend into pc gaming recently (played wow, diablo 3), but the most fun we had so far was while playing games where we could sit next tot eachother with 1 controller each and watch the action on the same screen. We had a blast with rayman origins and jamestown.
Do you guys recommend any other games along these lines? (I think we might have a secret love for sidescrolling space shooters... :))

There's not alot of splitscreen games for the pc(it sucks!!!), there are a few that i know of, there's dirt 3, worms, civilisation(all of them can be played hotswap style.) all the lego games(lego starwars, harry potter, indiana jones, they're childish but fun.) and i heard you can mod left 4 dead 1 and 2 to be split screen http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=745113.
I'm not sure of any side scrolling space shooters but umm.. You might like to take a look at Pocket Tanks which is a fun little game which involves one or two people in a turn by turn game involving accuracy of power, and angles. You get to 'duel' in many different maps, with ALOT of interesting weapons and i've always found it a perfect game for two people to play on one screen.
Speaking of duels, ever thought of getting her interested in any arcade fighter games? Perhaps a good ol' game of tekken? or even mortal combat?

I got to say this one place that maybe consoles pull through. But there are mmos that can use controllers and were you can play together. Like Firefall for example.

The thing with turn based games is that we keep these things for IOS, we play hero academy and lettrepress on our iphones.
Firefall looks interesting, defenately going to look into it.
As far as dueling goes, we have tried street fighter 4 (which I am a huge fan of) but my skill was too high for here so i quickly ended in rage quitting on her part, although she just said she's willing to give it another try. :)
I think she'll really like left 4 dead since she diggs the zombie theme.
If anyone has more suggestions keep em coming. Specifically for some good co-op games.

Awesomenauts has up to 3-player splitscreen, give it a try with two friends and you'll have a great time.
Portal 2 got a split screen update not too long ago IIRC
Beat Hazard, I had so much fun playing on the same screen with my lil'bro. You can find it on humble bundle for now, but once it expires, $10.
