I am going to build a computer around the holidays. My budget is around 400 dollars plus. I'm looking for a decent graphics card around 100 to 140 if it be used or new.
Do you already have parts?
What kind of games?
Does it need to include a display/peripherals?
Your basics on steam call of duty and such. I watched some tek syndicate videos and he recommended the zotac geforce gtx 750 ti (new). Also a radeon r9 280x to look for on eBay around 125.
Well ya got 2 options
7850K + 2400mhz RAM + SSD
Vs
860K + 360/750ti
You'll get a better daily experience with the SSD but clearly weaker gaming, however for the average AAA game the APU will be able to get around 60fps@720p and 30fps@1080p, around the level of a console

Or maybe screw getting a case, and get an 860K + 380 which will blow the APU rig out of the water, the 380 is on a good sale run atm

Otherwise get a case with a 360 or 750ti, 360 may be a better bet down the road due to DX12
Thank you. My original list
- CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K 3.7GHz Quad-Core Processor
- Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-DS2H Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard
- Ram: Hyperx fury (2x4gb)
- Power supply: evga 500w
- cpu cooler: cooler master hyper 212 evo
- Graphics card: Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 1GB GDDR5 2DVI/Mini HDMI PCI-Express Video Card ZT-70603-10M.
- Case: Deepcool TESSERACT
- Storage: Seagate Barracuda 7200 500 GB 7200RPM
Total: 396.90 was the total of my own list that i created.
Any tweaks i should make to get a better performance?
drop the case and get a 380, or just swap the 750ti for a 360
Otherwise I'd get a WD drive over a seagate drive
Thank you for your help i'll be back tomorrow with some more questions i have to go to sleep.
+1 to this
Look for similar specs to the gigabyte brix or intel NUCs (full built) and then youll likely be able to get it for the same price
if you dont go low end intel.. you can go godvari Athlon.. They are pretty peppy little chips. Maybe see if you can get 8 gbs of ram. 4 will do but 8 is nicer. there are some good Cases.. If you want it mini you can go mini itx LOL... uhmm AMD has better low end offerings than Nvidia so id go that route. I would not use an EVGA lower wattage power supply. They are not that good. Id look into XFX they are rebranded seasonics
