Graphics card pissing me off!

my piece of shit xfx radeon hd 4870 cant even run a movie in fullscreen, the screen flashes often about every 5-10 seconds

its pissing me off and its ruining the movie

i tried moving it off my 24" monitor to my secondary 17" still the same problem. Now this card i didnt expect to have a problem running a movie in full screen

EDIT:

typically how long are xfx warranties because I'm thinking replacement

are you sure its the video player or your drivers?

try using a different video player. if its still doing it, try upgrading or downgrading your video drivers

Try with VLC if you are not using it. It's free and it's win.

either the drivers are shitty, or you need to RMA that shit. i've still yet to encounter problems with my HIS 4870, but i know now to stay the hell away from XFX and ASUS' ATI cards. lol

(deleted your other double'd thread)

well ive got the most up to date drivers and i cant really change the video player because i'm streaming it :/

but i played something through it earlier and it was fine :S

i hate this card

and sorry about double thread i forgot to put first one in a category etc

Knew i should have got nVidia...

You'll probably have to talk to the guys at XFX for support, or an RMA...

good luck.

well I've created a "support ticket" on the XFX webiste.

And when I tried to register my card, strangely enough they though it was already registered O.O wtf is with that

i own a 4870 never had this problem

like the guy said above... if u are not using VLC please do

http://www.videolan.org/

>xfx

thats your problem

its not ati ati makes good cards but when you go ati go with HIS

xfx is crap

well i dont believe its the card thats the problem since it only happens when its in full screen. i strongly think its a software problem

does it happen when in full screen while using other video players? (youtube's player, megavideo, veoh, ect)

try watching a video in fullscreen using all thos players and see if it happens. if it does, try downgrading your video drivers and re-test (make sure u uninstall while in safe mode and use driversweeper)

you should always try troubleshooting very intensely b4 you ever RMA

good luck

does asus make bad cards? my asus 8800gts is working beautifully after whats it... 2 years?

Never buy ATI.

I always say to myself that, But then when they realse a new card and says how its supposed to be so x better then the nvidia i buy it and get disspointed and then i end up buying nvidia instaed.

@50cal, He said Asus ATi cards, not Nvidia.

Ultra your new avatar scares me.

How do i create a "Thread"

on the forum home page click add thread at the top...

i already found it out check it out

you guys got me worried lol...hopefully i dont run into problems like this,VLC player for everything, the new style of real player's great as well...you should download what your trying to view if you can and then watch it on real...

its weird sometimes it does it, sometimes it doesnt and it varies on different games.

And I've still got no reply from XFX customer service...

it sounds like it on its way out Download ATitools do a scan for artifacts if you get errors then RMA it..
