Gpu's

i was just wondering why all the nice parts of the gpu (fan heatsingk shroud ) are on the underside so we never see them when they are in the case.  does anybody know why they put them on the underside

Its just the specifiications outlaid for expansions card however many years ago it was. Though this only the case for ATX style cases.

If you use a BTX form factor case (aka ATX flipped so the processor socket is now at the bottom of the board), then all the fancy parts of the card are now on top. This is the same method used in the Apple Mac Pro's (the older silver tower desktop) and most Dell units.

ahh thanks

so whats stopping card manufactures from flipping the card and having the fans on the top so you can see them?

id rarther look at the fans and the nice shroud than a pcb
