Gpu's with no subvendor?

I have a radeon hd 4870 with no subvendor, At first I thought it  was just a normal reference card with stickers removed but it was brand new in plastic bag with no residue. No firmware subvendor either. Have I somehow gotten a reviewers card/engineering sample? 

The card looks EXACTLY the same as above.

Doubt it, I remember not too long ago that there was AMD branded cards out there. I want to say that the Radeon HD 4xxx series was the last time AMD did that?
