GPU Upgrade?

Hi everyone I have an HD 7950 with 8350 and a GS700 power supply. Is it worth it for me to get an R9 390??would there be any bottleneck happening around this system?? I am running it on a 1440p korean monitor.

I would personally wait if the card still works because the new line of gpu's are coming out in just a few months which promise much better performance.

I'd just wait, Polaris and Pascal are right around the corner. The only potential bottleneck you have that i can see here is the 8350. However, you won't notice it in games (unless you're looking to get the same numbers as the reviewers are getting of course).

I went from a 390x with 9370 to the same gpu with a 4790k

Results are largely dependent upon the game but I am definitely noticing it, especially with my 144hz 1440p monitor.

Are you happy with your performance? If yes then don't upgrade. If not wait until the latest stuff drops.

Make sure you OC the nuts off that 8350 though or else yeah you're gonna bottleneck it a bit.

Well it's all relative. I was saying from OPs current setup he won't notice a bottleneck more than the improvement that the new GPU will give him. Of course by upgrading the CPU you will see an improvement due to the alleviation of the bottleneck.

Polaris and Pascal come soon, wait

The new stuff is coming your CPU won't bottleneck I've tested my 8350 with 290x's in crossfire vs a 4790k and saw only min framerates suffered and the overall fps was down like 3-4 it's a joke how little cpus effect most games of course there are some exceptions where you will find some pain. The 390s are cheap right now and are really good cards if you can live without the bleeding edge it could be worthwhile.

Guess I will wait then. Was wondering bcs the 390's are at a relatively low priced Atm. My monitor is also OCd at 120hz and my 8350 running at 4.5
