For a long time now I've been having GPU problems. The screen goes black and I have to restart the pc. This mainly happens during gaming (Not GPU intensive games only) This only started happening ever since I re-installed windows a while back. Before that I had different crashes. They mainly happened during flash intensive things like watching youtube videos, flash games etc. The screen would turn to vertical lines of varying colour. (Usually gray, sometimes green) I guessed it was a flash problem. After re-formatting the problem stopped but the new one began. I’m clueless on the matter.
I’ve had FurMark on for 30 minutes but nothing happened. The temp peaked at 86 C (99% load) and the ambient temperature was 18.8C. According to GPU temp the Gpu stays at 35C at 0% load. The card needs cleaning but I doubt that’s the cause of the problem.
The specs are as follows:
GPU AMD Radeon Powercolor 6790 (Reference cooler) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3
CPU AMD 4100

PSU OCZ coreXstream (facepalm) 500w
