GPU pinning

Does anyone know if it’s possible to perform GPU pinning in Windows Server 2012 R2? I know this feature was marketed as part of 2016R2 Data center, unfortunately I don’t have that available.

I do not know what this is, and am unable to find any mention of it on the web.

Do you perhaps mean Hyper-V direct device assignment used for a GPU? I know that started with server 2016. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/virtualization/hyper-v/deploy/deploying-graphics-devices-using-dda

I am pretty sure that there is only 2016, and no 2016 r2 version.

Yes, direct device assignment. I’m curious if anyone’s found a driver, workaround, or method of augmenting the OS to support this.

Sorry, I am not aware of any method.

However, DDA also works with Hyper-V server(2016 and 2019) which are free. Also, you could use server 2016(or 2019) standard, if you have access to that.

Another posible option is to use another operating system as the host, then do the equivalent of direct device assignment. This may or may not work depending on your requirements. Linux (using KVM) or ESXi are options that have it.
