I bought a new gpu for my birthday an r9 285 and when i installed and load up a game i cant play it for many seconds till lots of random colors come on my screen and the driver crashes im not a very technical guy but i built my computer my self and my mother board is low end could that be the issue if not can you tell me what is wrong

Make sure the PCI-E cables are secured. That solved my problem.

Try reinstalling the latest Catalyst. If that doesn't work, then you can try reverting to a previous version. That can sometimes remedy stability problems.

have you tried changing it back to your old GPU to see if it having the same problem?
Check your GPU temps when you put it under load.
Reseat the cooler. This might be a memory chip that is not cooled or touched properly by the cooler.
