GPU not working with MOBO? HELP!

My motherboard is getting on my nerves. I install the GTX 660, computer boots up, no screem, just black. I put in my old Graphics Card GT 640, it works.

I burrow a new power supply 850 Watts, still doesn't work with GTX 660. I take the GTX 660 to a local Pc Shop, he plugs it into a different Computer, it boots up and it works. He tells me there could be a compatibility issue between this GPU and Your Motherboard.

I tell him what Do I Do, he goes either buy a new Motherboard, Memory and CPU (over $650), or just stick with your old Graphics card. So Pissed.

Ive updated everything, BIOS, Drivers, Geforce, Windows.

Anything Else I could try, SOO Desperate, bought the card for $200. Any Help or something that could fix this problem, Id totally send out my old Graphics card or a Wireless Adapter for free that I don't need anymore. Please, really desperate for something to work.

The Motherboard is a Acer Inc.

put your new card in and reset the bios.

disconnect the powersupply, take out the bios battery for about 5 minutes put the battery back in, connect the psu again. and look if it shows screen then. if it shows screen, then offcourse dont forget to set date and time settings and such in the bios again.

What is the model of your CPU?

I7 3770

I wish I could, I can't even get to my BIOS, its just a black screen with everything booted up, it says no signal.

like i said, disconnect your psu from the wall open your case, there is a battery on the motherboard, take that off the board, wait 5 minutes put it back again. connect the psu and look if you it works then, with the new gpu.

it will reset your bios to factory defaults so if it works you have to set date and time again in the bios, befor you can boot to windows!! important otherwise you get a bsod during booting.

ps, which motherboard are you using?

I'll gonna try that, will it delete any files or settings on my computer before I do it?

Does it only reset date and time, what about installations and programs and other things? Also, how would I change the Date and Time, does it automatically pop up and I'll change it or do I gotta do something before. I've never done or touched a BIOS in my entire life, I'll read your reply on my phone,

The Motherboard is a Acer Aspire M3985 (SOCKET 0) I copied that from Pc Speccy

well you dont have to change any program settings.

if it works, the only thing you have to do is go into the bios hitting del key or F1. then main setup, there you will find the date and time settings, just set that correctly, and then you basicly done, exit and save changes Y enter.

it still boots up no signal, f1 and del isnt getting me into bios, and then it just goes to black screen

WAIT 1 SECOND OMG MISTERY ANGEL IT BOOTED. I DIDNT EVEN GO INTO BIOS JUST TOOK ME INTO WINDOWS SIGN IN im installing latest nvidia drivers now and then im going to reset and see if it works if it does mystery angel I will give you my old graphics card or wirelss adapter for free with free shipping just give me 20mins im updating nvidia drivers if this works...... :)))))))

Yep it works, it boots says no signal, then I wait 10secs and it boots into sign in, ive signed in and everything is here programs files, date and time are automatic, Mistery angel thank you sooo much ive been working my brain around everything and all possibilities for like 1 month I just need to get a psu with a longer psu cable because right now its sitting on the top of my sideways computer haha, thank you so much again mistery angel

Thats nice ☺

Well i see those wiered things often happen with prebuild machines, issues with the bios, wenn changing the gpu, or other hardware, mostly a hard reset does the magic.

is there any way to get rid of the No signal message and then it boots again?

you dont get any signal till you can log in into windows? so no screen during windows bootup you dont see a startingup windows logo or a aspire splash screen?

thank you so much again. I'll definetly take that signal problem to a Pc technician and they"ll fix it for me. thank you again Mistery Angel. god bless you :)

at least it works ☺

like i said probably the onboard igpu need to be  disabled, or the video bootup option should be set to pci-e, or something like that. There will probably be a setting in the bios somewhere. most motherboards do this automaticly but yeah.. its an acer you know.. same as dell packardbell HP and such, allways abit of a pain in the ass, wenn changing hardware.
