Hi everyone,
I'm planning on buying a ASUS AMD Radeon HD7950.
I was just wondering would this fit in my case: Zalman Z11?
From what I've seen it looks like it won't fit, i was just wondering if anyone could confirm.
Thanks,
Ben.

yes, even though amd cards are bigger than nvidia cards in length yes it will
sexy case by the way
Are you sure? Im thinking about length (not depth) just to confirm! From review videos (Newegg) the card is confirmed longer than the space in the case.
Haha thanks, very cheap as well!
Actually, no, it might not. According to newegg, your case supports cards up to 290 mm in length, and, also according to Newegg, the Asus 7950 is 11.8" long, or, 299mm. Its close, but a bit too long
Yeah, thats what i thought... thats kind of annoying.
May be an excuse to get a new case!
11.8 inches = 29.97200 centimetres..... well fuck me lol. fair point
i noticed there's a mounting piece for the lower drive bays, maybe removing it would give you the clearence.... maybe just. or just completely removing the entire lower mount bay all togeather with a dremal that would work. or get a new case like you said
Thanks for the suggestion but I cant see how right now.
As the ASUS doesnt fit, do you think the Gigabyte HD7950 would fit?
which one? the windforce 3?
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4121#sp this one will its 285mm in length
Yup that one, will that one keep very cool as the ASUS one does?
yeah it should do it's a big heatsink with 3 fans lol. as long you got decent airflow in your case (as it's an open enclosure heatsink design which exaust into the case) and that you have set a good custom adaptive fan profile for the gpu. it will be fine. you should have no issues squeezing a tastey oc out of it aswell something like 1100 to 1300mhz maybe more depending on how good the silicon is in the chip, but that's what the silcon lottery is all about
Yep, itll louder if you OC it heavily, but i have one and it can stay extremely cool even under a something like Furmark, and the max fan speed ive used is 60%, and it was still way under Tahiti's thermal limits with that fan speed.
Just check to make sure its not voltage locked, there have been some people saying that they have gotten voltage locked cards, but im not to sure how factual those reports are.
Ok, thanks man, this helped a lot! Hopefully a nice OC will happen haha.
break out the dremel and make it fit, dont be a wimp.
