GPU Hot?

My GPU a ASUS gtx 560 (non ti) is getting up to 85 degrees celcius is that too hot for gpu or am I safe if not what is a good temp for a gpu?

ur safe, just living life on the edge...

That's pretty hot. I hope those are load temps. If they're load temps then you're fine, but if they're idle, then you're fucked.

Damn, that's pretty close to hitting the max temp.  I'd be having a panic attack if mine was that high.

Is there a spot on the side of your case that you could add a fan to blow air directly on your GPU?

In my opinion if you run your hardware too hot you run the risk of breaking, cutting the life of the product, and getting poor performance... open the side of your case and see if that helps. If it does help you could have an air flow issue . If thats your idle temps you could have a defective card.... You could also be running a program thats stressing the gpu... i alway recommend this kind of cooler for my gpu ejecting hot air out of the case

  • Clean the GPU
  • Improve airflow in the case
  • upgrade the stock cooler to a better one

My GTX 470 gets around those temps, but the card is known to run hot with the reference cooler.

I've been planning to upgrade the cooler to this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186052
