Hello everyone :-)
I currently have Nvidia Titans in 2-way-SLI, and the upper cards runs over 80 degrees. I created a custom fan curve with MSI Afterburner / EVGA Precision and it worked - the GPU temps were under 80 degrees and both cards could run at their turbo clock for hours.
The problem with both software was, that I could not use the standby mode in Windows 8.1 properly. My PC would not go into standby mode after the set time (15 minutes), and if I did it manually, I would get a bluescreen when shutting the PC off after waking it up.
Software I have already tried:
- EVGA Precision: Problems with standby mode
- MSI Afterburner: Problems with standby mode
- Nvidia Inspector: No custom fan profiles, only fix fan speed
- SpeedFan: Does not recognize my GPU fans
Can anybody recommend a software, with which I can create a fan profile for my GPUs while still being able to use the standby mode in Windows 8.1? Thanks in advance.
You might be able to flash the gpu bios with a custom fan curve I am not sure if you can do this but I know you can adjust the base clock / boost clock and voltage and the max/min fanspeed though bios modification.
Thanks a lot for your reply.
I would like to avoid flashing the bios, since the do not want to void the cards warranty and I want to be able to just kill the application if it does not run properly and return to the original Nvidia settings as easy as possible.
I might add, that I would be willing to pay for such an application. I have spend too many hours trying to get this working properly ;-)
The problem with the S2 energy saving mode was not caused by EVGA Precision > Thread can be closed
What a coincidence, I too was looking for a way to customize the fan curve profile of my GPU since the one set in the bios isn't enough to cool the Matrix bios that I flashed into a regular Asus HD 7970 Direct CUII. I'm settling for MSI's After burner for now since My card doesn't have a problem powering down when PC is idle and the CPU footprint is minimal and negligible at best.
If you have the balls, you could try editing your bios. Check out the tutorial on this link.
