I recently got a GTX 970 ITX by Gigabyte, and I just threw it in my build (See below) When I fire it up, I get a display through the GPU HDMI output, but it is neither detected nor is used when playing games. I can't install drivers or anything either, because it says I don't have an Nvidia graphics card. Any help is appreciated. I realize the PSU is very very small, but I want to rule out everything before I buy another. I also went to put my old 660 back in, and the same thing is happening.
Build-
Corsair CX430 PSU
ASUS P8B75 LX Plus
8 GB Ram
Intel i5 3570
OS- Windows 10
Storage- 110 gb SSD for C, 1 TB HDD for storage.
is the video driver instaled? its allso possible the video card isent geting the right power 430w IS enuff to run your rig but i doubt your cx unit has the ampage for it makeing it run in limp mode.
That's what I thought. Is there such a thing that the card doesn't have enough power to run fully, so it just passes through the signal? And no, the driver is not installed, but since the video card is not picked up, it will not detect it and install the driver.
got to get that driver instaled dont use the auto detect use the one off the disc if you have to to get you going and the system showing your gpu but first completely remove your old drivers
The disk as well as other drivers, tell me that there is no compatible hardware detected, and will not install the drivers.
Sounds like windows 10 haveing a hissy fit go to your bios and set it to legacy mode and retry
How do I do this? What exactly do I change?
You need a driver specifically for Windows 10.
Go here, download and Install.
Trust me I know that. Found a fix however. Windows 10 was indeed throwing the hissiest of fits. Reverted to Windows 7, worked perfectly. Thanks everyone!
Windows at its finest lol
