GPU artifacting in GKT2 apps

I’ve been noticing some interesting glitches in GIMP and hardinfo, and only those two applications. To my knowledge, those are the only GTK2 programs on my system, and I’ve never seen this artifacting in other applications.

The artifacting only seems to appear over buttons, text boxes, or other interactive elements - not static elements.

And to make things even weirder, this didn’t happen on my old system (R7-1700). I recently upgraded to an R7-5700X, and upgraded my motherboard and memory with it, and only now has this started - the GPU is the same.

Any idea what this could be?

At the moment, I’m not too concerned since it’s just GTK2 applications and I can (temporarily) stop the artifacting just by mousing over it, but it is annoying and I want to make sure it’s not something that will become a bigger issue later on.

Looks like Mint to me… I remember having a similar issue and ended up solving it by selecting a different GTK2 theme in system settings.

I had those artefacts a while back but I think they’re gone now. Debian Testing, Gimp 2.10.32.

It is Mint. I don’t see a way to set just a GTK2 theme, though.

Hopefully they disappear on my end, too!

I’m running GIMP 2.10.30.
