Got my white Galaxy S5 G900 a few hours earlier

I just got my white Galaxy S5 G900 a few hours earlier. So far, over all, this is an amazing phone especially the incredible screen with moderately saturated colors. It comes smaller than I thought, having unexpected great ergonomics in my hand. Actually I am grateful that Samsung sticks to plastic cases because it cut weight and giving an option to replace a battery. Now I consider a new battery as backup.

Looks good

I am thinking of a S5!

This is not a phone forum, and if it was, ( well we have a sub forum for it) YOU NEED TO ROOT THAT THING.

Well seeing as he posted in the Phone subforum then I dont see why you are complaining? Phones are talked about a lot in the tek so why complain?

OP, I have to say the only reason why I still consider samsung still is due to their great screens, ability to replace the battery and tethering. Have to say I am tossing up between the latest Note, an HTC One or a Nexus. I like phablits but there still isnt a phone that fits my wants. Still rocking an S3.

I agree....

Actually.... i  bought a new S3 last week, to replace my old tired S3 that i got when they were first released hahaha

Is there really that big a leap to justify replacing my S3, which I love, with the S5?

Honestly if you dont need the extra power and screen realistate and your phone still works like new then no. If you are struggling to play games and it is generally slow even after a full factory reset then yes it might be worth. I consider an upgrade because the memory moduals in my phone have slowed down drasticly to the point where it takes half a minute or more to open even the most basic apps and utilities like the keyboard. Even after a 100% flash back to stock and a clear of all old data.

Why is the word Samsung on the back reversed?!

edit: taken in a mirror lol.

The image is upside down and also mirrored

If you love the S3 like I did, no there's no reason. I just got my S5 today and while i haven't had a chance to thoroughly play with it I kinda miss my S3. I bit the bullet and upgraded after my S3 got drowned and the camera/light didn't work and sound was shotty.

I do like how the S5 has measures to keep water out with some water "proofing." I hate the word proofing, like in law enforcement when we use the term "bullet proof" or "non-lethal" it makes it sounds like it's guaranteed.

I have an S4 and will for another year, damn contracts, but it has been solid. Incredibly reliable and fast. Takes amazing photos as well.

I'm not so sure I'd grab the S5 though. I don't like the looks on the back and the screen is bigger but still the same resolution so not as sharp. I wish they didnt put in a fingerprint scanner toi. The water resistance is a nice tho as is more RAM. Still wish we got the 8 Core in the US.

Really though I just don't see it as being a big enough upgrade from the S4. Perhaps the S6 will be worth it.

Idk why everyone gets down on the Galaxy phones though. My dad has an S3 and loves it and I love my S4. Even without a root it is fine for me I just put a new launcher on and I'm happy. Like OP said though I love the removable battery and expandable storage.

I'm no apple fanboy but i have had my iphone 4 for 2 years and its done what they said it would do for all that time.

Have my fathers S3 (he's passed on) gave mine to my uncle. Got my ex a lg g2 before we split. I still really like my S3 but the rom on it wont let me use the front facing camera. I haven't found a fix right off but the battery and replacement batter just doesn't last any longer, I'm swapping them back and forth all day. With the flash shutting the phone down. Looking at the S5 and One (m8) currently thanks everyone for your input. Congrats on your new phone :D
