Got a new PSU. Audio question

Just got a new Thermaltake Smart M750W. When I turn on my PC or when I wake it up from sleep mode there is a loud pop that comes from my PC speakers. Is this normal?

no its not normal. it could be a few things

1) speekers are not properly grounded

2) static on you io shield.

3) bad shielding on the audio card or onboard audio?

the sound could hurt your speakers so turn them off when you leave your pc untill you can fix the prob

Well actually it's not that loud. It just wasnt as loud with my old PSU which was an Antec 550W. I just looked in my case and everything seems fine cable wise. Nothing is touching anything it shouldn't. Could it be because my new PSU has  alot more juice than my old one?

Any ideas?

Anyone?

umm, i've had that happen before, not sure what causes it. maybe just tun ur speakers off when starting it up....

That's weird. I've never encountered anything like that before.

ya im thinking that some of the compasiters are not discharging so theirs alittle power left over at shutdown that gose to your speakers.

to confirm this when you shut your computer down unplug your psu then press the power button. next plug your psu back in and turn your pc on and if their is a pop... then try the same prosses with your speakers.

Hey Akira4950, I tried what you said and the speakers still pop upon turning on the PC or waking it up from sleep mode. So I don't know what's going on :/

It is normal if you have the speakers turned on before the computer goes on. Speakers are always the last thing you should turn on during a startup, and the first thing to turn off when you shut down. They WILL pop when they receive and loose power otherwise. How much they pop depends on how sensitive the speakers are, and on the amplifier (either in your separate amp, receiver or built into the speakers depending on what you have).
