Okay guys, i need a PC with a core I5 (can be ivy or sandy) and a 600 series (or equivalent) GPU, oh and if you can, an SSD would be great!. The problem here is that i want to get it done with only $1250 so i need a real bargain hunter. Oh and one more problem, I'm from the UK so shipping might need to be taken into consideration, so a bit of a challenge for you guys, hope you can help!
I just threw something together really quick and it came to almost exactly $1250. That's not including shipping though, so if you want I can make tweak it a little to make it less expensive. This is what I would probably get with that much cash though:
CPU: Intel Core i5 2500K (You could always go with the 3570K if you want some of the extra features it gives you too. It's only $10 more. The 2500K is a better overclocker in general though, so there are some tradeoffs you'd have to think about.) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master TPC 812 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103176
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128544
RAM: Mushkin Redline 8GB @1600mhz 7-7-7-24 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226305
GPU: MSI GTX 660TI Power Edition - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127697
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148840
SSD: Samsung 830 Series 128GB - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147163
Case: NZXT Phantom 410 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146091
PSU: Seasonic X750 Gold - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151087
If you need it to be cheaper, I can always go a little cheaper on the power supply, which will save you about $40. It's basically the same power supply; it just has an 80+ bronze efficiency rating instead of gold. We could probably go cheaper on the hard drive too if you don't need that much storage space. The same could probably be said for the SSD too, and case preference is always more of a personal thing anyway. We could go with a cooler that's less beefy too, especially if you're not into overclocking.
Cheers man, thanks for that, i mean, i've never really needed many of the new ivy features so a sandybridge has been fine for me, and to be honest you've found everything i need for the price i've wanted so cheers man and thanks for the help! shipping shouldn't be too expensive so thanks!
Challenge accepted. If you have a SATA optical drive and storage drive you can gut from a previous computer, this is still £20 over budget, but they are all parts you can get local to your country.

No problem! I love putting builds together for people, and this one was probably one of the easier ones to put together according to the price. If you end up getting it all, post some pictures or video of the finished product. I'm sure people would like to see it. :D
I have kind of a personal beef with MSI because I had to replace one of their boards recently because it was killing itself little by little over time. Not to mention that their bios is pretty damn bad for overclocking.
The OCZ Agility series isn't that great either. You definitely won't get near the speeds that they advertise or at least not consistently.
If he had a bit more budget to work with, and more parts available, i wouldve picked a corsair force gt series SSD and an ASRock extreme6 Z77. seeing how the shipping for newegg is immense and ruins the budget... thats why i went the route i did. if he can find them somewhere, id recommend those parts over the agility 3 and MSI board. but that sweet deal on the 7870 Ghz Edition was too good to pass up on.
Cheers man, that deal wit the 7870 was great!
Yeah cheers man! It'll be a while before i get it up and posted (internet in my region is so bad) but when it's made and done i'll post it on here and tell you when i've got it up!
also i can go a little over budget so an extra 50-60 pounds wont matter!
