I’m on a quest to block ads in chromecast google tv. Things I’ve tried so far… side loaded adgaurd on chromecast. Installed unknown sources but haven’t figured out how to install https cert yet.

Do it at the router/FW level or DNS (pi hole)

I’ve tried DNS blocking on Chromecast but it automatically reverts back to Google DNS. Then tried router level Adblock DNS (Adguard). Since a lot of the apps use DNS ads, doesn’t work well. I would like to try to find a way to install CA certificate from Adguard app that is currently installed and running on Chromecast. Anyone know how to do it?
I will root when it becomes available. I’ve also looked into running Google TV on a pi or emu but the problem is DRM and lack of sound like Atmos and Dolby… HDR and all that.
