Google store could not install to SD card

I have recently tried to install ROM manager premium and geekbench which are both bought products from the google play store.

But when I try to install them I am met with unable to install to USB storage or SD card.

I am currently running a rooted, s-off HTC One with stock android kitkat google play edition.

Is this due to the fact that kitkat doesn't allows SD card access or is it something else.

Also I have applied the SD card fix for this.

Some apps need access to the phone directly (primary storage) and wouldn't work properly if installed on SD-card, the same for all versions of android.

OK I have half way fixed it. I have flashed it again to android 4.4 and it let me install it.

But when I use the HTC update utility to android 4.4.2 I lose root and I can't install these apps (both are paid for).

Even when I re-rooted it I had the same problem.

are you using the HTC update utility to update to update to the google play edition rom? Also do you have the google play edition phone? If not but you are trying to install the play edition rom then that is the problem. Also were you on the stock play edition rom? Either way it's a rom not meant for your phone, remember that different carrier versions DO need different roms.
