Good Video editing program?

I need a good video editing program, nothing too fancy as I don't need too much. Right now I'm using MS Live movie maker, don't laugh! 

So maybe not a good video editor more like a cheap reliable one... If I explain what I like about what I'm using and why I think I need better...

I like that it's real simple, I like that I can render and upload to YouTube. Things I don't like is it's flaky as hell, with my video card driver crashing. sometimes it turns out content that is buggered and dose not play. 

Given the choise I would prefer Open Source but Windows Open source can be limited. If I have to pay for it that's OK but not too much. Sony Vagas is A/ way too complicated and B/ way too expensive...

This is free and I believe open source! Its been used on big budget movies before. It has an interesting UI but it has pretty much everything you'll need from a good editor.

blender is another option. It's a 3d modeling program, but has a video editor too. It's free so no excuse not to try it out. You might need a tutorial just on how to get to the video editor's UI though :P
