Good sources for 768GB WRX90 RDIMM kits

I’m trying to find a 8x48GB DDR5 RDIMM kit, preferably V-Color - must be on the QVL for Asus WRX90.

It will be an upgrade from an 8x32GB V-Color kit.

I found one on Amazon and Newegg for ~$12k, but it sold out before I could buy it today :disappointed:

The V-Color site (where I purchased the 256GB kit from) seems to only have 1TB kits in stock - which are ~$20k.

I was hoping to spend closer to $12-15k (which is what the Amazon listing was)

Any tips on vendors that are lesser known for high-end RAM like this? I usually check BH Photo Video, Amazon and Newegg when manufacturer direct isn’t an option. But no luck with any of those.

I’m currently trying to decide if the $20-$25k price for 1TB is worth it - am I insane for caring so much about an extra 25% in cost for such a high end system? Convince me to pull the trigger and I’ll sell you the “old” 256GB kit at a steep discount :slight_smile:

I’d say do it before it gets worse. I did two weeks ago with a 4x128G kit, then it doubled two weeks later

Have you considered what you can get selling your 8x32GB kit when it comes to offsetting the price of the new setup? Maybe you can make the case for spending more if you really want the 1TB kit.

I would suspect that 8x32 kit may net you $3600 (or more if you hold on to it for a little while RAM continues into the stratosphere). In other words, buy your new kit now and sell your previous kit a few months down the road when prices go even more crazy.

I hadn’t considered the potential further appreciation of the 8x32 though…
