Good pc for $300 or help on my current pc?

I recently built my own pc and i cant even explain all the problems ive had. i spent roughly $350 on it and it was my first build i was hoping to finally get into pc gaming after ive been waiting to for a year now. So i got all the parts and put it all together and started up the pc and everything was fine. I was running linux and i noticed some icons dissapearing and random pixels just  dissapearing, lines would go across the screen and nothing worked right. I was using VGA but i pulled an HDMI cable and it still didnt help. I then tried to get an internet connection and i can only do wireless but i cant becuase i cant install the drivers without internet (smart move by the manufactures of the USB wireless conector). So i messed with my computer never got it working and gave up and decided to wait until i can get a copy of windows to fix it. Last week in the mail i get a letter from my grandpa and he heard i needed a copy of windows so he was nice enough to buy my one and send me it. i pulled a disk drive out of my current computer that im using (Dell Dimension E521) and i put it in slapped in the copy of windows and i get super excited and... it cant read the copy of windows. The copy of windows i got was a dell reinstall disk (at least the sitcker on the front of the disk said so) but on the packaging it said i could use this to make a new install or reinstall windows. I almost got a sledgehammer and broke everything becuase i was so mad. So right now i have a $350 25lb. paperweight in the corner. the specs of it are

AMD A6-5400K processor

MSI FM2-A55M-E33 motherboard

Corair CX430 80+ bronze certified power supply

thermaltake V3 black edition case

seagate 500gb 72000 rpm drive

Do any of you guys know how to fix it or i may just sell it, get some money and buy a $300 computer i can use for counter strike GO, TF2, minecraft, league of legends, world of tanks, and source based games. Once i buy it in a few months ill get a new GPU for it. So if any of you guys know a good pc i can buy or just know how to fix my current pc i would be very grateful. thanks and have a nice day!

well for the disc you need to set the disk drive as your primary boot when you put the disk into the computer.  For the wireless download the drivers onto a flashdrive on your other computer and install them on the new one.  And once you get the windows going make sure to install all your motherboard drivers and AMD display drivers.  And if that does not work you need a real windows disc and not the dell what ever it is.  You are raging about this computer but getting a new one will not solve not having a windows disc.

i made SURE i set the disk drive as my primary boot drive and yea it still didnt work, i tried it about 5 times

Why not just download a trial of windows and boot it of a usb?

You mentioned haveing another computer, so why not download the drivers you need and put them on a flash drive?

(So basicly what ragingh4vok said)

Also, did the Win7 disk come with a product key?

i think it did, is it the little sticker with the 25 digit code?

i have linux on this computer so downloading drivers isnt an option.

i could try that but what do i do when it runs out?

Yea, thats the product key.

Why can you not download the drivers, How else would you obtain them?

(<--- Does not use Linux)

whenever you download a file on linux it automatically converts it to a file that cannot be used for ANYTHING.

option 1.

Try a different distro of linux. The drivers are handled by the kernel and having the most up to date kernel for your distro is helpful.* I'm on Ubuntu 13.04.

*sometimes it's not but not going to specifics.

option 2

make your own iso image for windows.

this isn't illegal it's not cracked. It just requires an activation code. Its important to match home premium to home premium and 64 bit to 64 bit as that is what your cd key is for.

Also what variate is the windows cd you're using? if it's older than 7 it may be incompatibility issues.

Hm, that's lame. There might be a way around that though.

its windows 7 64 bit home premium

You could try downloading and making a .iso dvd to install windows from the website then use the 25 activation code on the dell cd case to activate the new cd.

Activate the key you have from the dell disk?

Could you download it from your local library or friend's house or something?

would it work with a USB? i dont have any disks i have 1 USB with linux 64bit but i could put it on that 8GB one or i have a 16GB one as well

yes

thanks my friend knows a thing or two about that once i asked him and he said that he would put an ISO on a flash drive for me and give it to me. I really hope this works and fixes the problems with my pc and the refresh rate issues and resolution issues. Thanks!
