Easy process that takes 5 minutes. I have already tested it out in a spare pc and I will be upgrading my media center later today.
Download the WindowsMediaCenter_10.0.10134.0v2.1.rar file
https://mega.nz/#!7QMEwY5K!mQKFQZB4bMaHAnwxU8fpNJOzhabBK1Ez5hFCkA1gqmk
Then, with 7-Zip, extract the folder to your main system drive and open it.
Right-click on the file _TestRights.cmd and select Run as administrator.
Then right-click on the file Installer.cmd and select Run as administrator. Press any key to exit the installer when it’s finished.

You will need a codec to actually view TV because it is now built in to this work around, I used this one.

Update: Is fully functional and I have streamed tv to my media center. Full functionality is there within WMC.
Interesting how this functionality isn't baked into windows 10, seems like a sizeable oversight on their part.

Isn't using Myth TV @ this point better? it's windows software without support. Dealing with windows software that has support is hard enough already or am i missing some magical functionality in WMC?

The only reason I posted this is because the win10 upgrade ends tomorrow and I have a WMC environment. I have a few TV's with Xbox 360s behind them. It is truly amazing That a program that really hasn't been worked on since 2007, is the best windows program I have ever used. You can just type an 8 digit code from your Xbox to you media center and it just streams. Media center was ahead of its time and I was sad to see it removed from windows when they announced 10.
Ah never knew that Xbox360 and WMC were compatible, but maybe with that new live/xbox/windows stuff. They maybe have a replacement in line for it. I sadly only had bad experience with WMC and then i fell in love with the Raspberry Pi community,so If you ever think of replacing your media network.
Are those codec pack installers from Shark allready cleaned from adware?
Yeah the just works factor is amazing. If you look up the ceton infinitv 4 or 6 tuner pci cards, they trade hands on ebay for $200 because of people like me that still love WMC. The codec pack I posted above does not have any adware.
use to be ? WMC was pretty decent all the way back to vista if one you use sharky's codecs and two alittle modding but nothing to nerdy ? Had hulu, pandora and all kinds of stuff easily dropped in. Back in day :( Now ? I haven't tried with win 10. Moved my media away from windows to avoid overagressive drm.
The drm isnt fun but I have a script that turns that all off, so if Microsoft turns it back on for a security update, I can easily undo that.
The thing that saves you the most headaches is the fact that your are using the approved Ceton tuner cards. Will not be the same for most anything else ?
The ceton cards have a few bugs with them but are relatively pain free in their operation. The most annoying part is calling your cable provider to send a ccv activation code to the cable card so you can tune tv channels.
the previous version of sharks codec packs were shady because they contained hidden adware.
But according to his site, he released a new pack that is adware free.
So he kinda acknowledged it.
Why can't you just use VLC?
did i forget to mention that you used to be able to do the samething for 12 dollars :) Ceton is grossly over priced and counting on windows to carry them. Here today gone tomorrrow.
I was running v580. I was aware for a little while that he had partnered up with some company that i didnt like. I have so many versions shugs. :) Never seen the delta toolbar ? But codecs are not in the constant update catagory ? I would say some download source/site bundled some bs ?
