There is a victory with the internet censorship law, I just recently got an email from Demand Progress. Our government has basically gave up from trying to take control of the internet. We were able to convince them to adopt internet freedom, both Democrats and Republicans. Back in July, CISPA was banished to oblivion. We also took out SOPA/PIPA which was good. I think we finally set the Government a wake up call telling them not to mess with OUR internet.
Demand Progress is asking for money to help keep the internet free and open, you can pay with paypal or Act Blue.
According to Demand Progress, “the Republicans are planning on removing the regulatory barriers that protect outdated technologies and business plans from innovation and competition. Also ensure that all our personal data gets full constitutional protection from government overreach and that individuals retain the right to control the use of their personal data by third parties.”
Democrats said they are committed to protecting our internet freedoms. So far from my view, they have been doing a good job so far.
Overall this is extremely good news for all of us regardless!
Right on that. I do want to find a way to get a campaign going to get our patent system back on track. Lots of work needed in that area. There is a lot of area in this country that really needs fixing. My concern right now is the patent system. Companies keep wanting to abuse the patent system
I fail to see how you have won, when the government (Who has lied to, betrayed, and belittled the American public) has an emergency Internet killswitch. If they were serious about this CISPA/PIPA/SOPA shit, they would have just turned the internet off; they have the power, and the right (Since congress passed the bill). To be completely honest, America is fucked if someone really wants the internet gone.
To control all the Marijuana in the world, first you have to destroy every free plant. The same works with internet, my friend. Take away the peoples internet, and they'll be groveling at your knees begging to buy it back from you at any price.
