Good Gaming Peripherals Set up?!

I'm thinking of getting a new PC, but I want all the peripherals that come with it to be perfect!

These are what I was thinking of getting:

Monitor: BenQ Xl2420T

Surface: SteelSeries Qck Mini

Mouse: SteelSeries Kinzu V2 Pro

Keyboard: SteelSeries 6G V2

Headset: SteelSeries Siberia V2 USB

Please let me know what you guys think! Anything better for the same price range let me know! Also give reasons why you think your suggestions are better!

I really want help with choosing a Monitor though!

I haven't really got anything to add on the monitor and controlling peripherals, I can't think of any significantly better 120Hz screens and M&KB are largely a matter of taste.

For the sound though, I would definitely go for a separate headphone + mic, you get better sound for the price that way. Something around that price would be the Creative Aurvana Live! headphones + a Zalman ZM-Mic1. The mic is pretty good despite being so cheap, I have one myself and use it on skype almost every day. The headphones are great for the price too, it's basically an updated version of the discontinued Denon AH-D1001 (same driver).

Please don't be brand loyal to Steelseries. They make great products sometimes, but you should only buy them when you're absolutely sure you know what you're doing. In your case, that doesn't seem to be true.

Do you even like MX Blacks? Most people that buy a mechanical keyboard don't. I recommend buying something like a Filco Majestouch 2, CM Storm Quickfire Rapid/Pro or any other keyboard that has great reviews and a variation of different switches. I recommend getting either Browns, Reds or Blacks for gaming. Blues are more for typing. Heck, even go buckling springs and buy a Model M! Make sure to research everything from trustworthy and unbiased sources.

For the mouse, seeing as you picked an optical one, you should get either a G400, Zowie AM or the EC1 eVo. These are my favourite optical mouses. The one you picked is fine as well, but you should really look these ones up. If you don't care whether you're getting an optical or a laser mouse, also check out these: G500 and G700. If you're a claw gripper, check out the G9x and CM Storm Spawn. Some people like the Deathadder, but I would advise you to stay away from Razer.

Headset? Please no. Buy a pair of decent headphones with a great soundstage(for gaming) like the Superlux HD681(cheap, still good) or ATH-AD700(more expensive, GREAT headphones) and an average(or better) desktop microphone or an XTY Microphone/Headset($3, free shipping) and glue it to your headphones. In the end you'll have a better headset than you would ever get from a gaming brand. I'm not even joking.

The monitor you chose is an expensive 120Hz one. You could buy better 60Hz IPS monitor(Dell, Asus, stay away from LG) for half the price unless you really really really want 120Hz. Always look for a review at TFT Central for your monitor though. If it has anything you don't want or there's a better alternative, don't get it.

You picked a nice mousepad. Not like it matters anyway.

Mousepad - Its good... its a mousepad, what do you expect?

Keyboard - I own the Steelseries 7G and its by far my favorite mechanical keyboard I've used, the 6GV2 is the 7G's little brother. I am a fan of black switches, mostly because I'm a very heavy typist and the rest of the switches are too light and subsequently too error prone with very high actuation points. You should try to see what kind of switch you like as it will be different from person to person, of the people I know with mech boards, 2 have blue, 1 has brown, 1 has black. One thing to note about the 7G and 6GV2 is that they have slightly altered layouts, the 7G has a shortened backspace with the pipe key moved up, the 6GV2 has a shortened right shift key with the pipe moved down. All in all its a rock solid board, braided cables and a steel backplate, you could beat someone to death with it, plug it in, and type an email to his mom on all the same board. For budget minded individuals, I also often recommend the CM QuickFire Rapid/Pro.

Mouse - The Kinzu V2 is a solid mouse, well built, braided cable etc, but in terms of features, its ultra basic. A max cpi of 3200 and no side buttons is a odd thing for a mouse of this price. Its by no means bad, and if your in the market for a solid yet simple mouse, this may be one of the best options, but understand that many other brands offer similar build quality and a good number more features for nearly the same price. The Cooler Master Sentinel is insane for neary the same price, check it out sometime, the damn thing has its own scripting language.

Headset - I own two pairs of these, I think they are pretty sick, good look, solid sound and the mic is very clear. With that said, I'm am by no means an audiophile, I've been handed $700 headphones and not really been able to tell much of a difference. This headset is geared towards games though, keep that in mind, I find music sounds good in them, but games sound great, I've actually caught myself thinking noises from inside games were actually coming from behind me. Not that I'm damning the opinions in the comments above, I'm saying these are good products and if you've got your heart set on you probably won't be dissapointed. One thing to note, I've found they will break every 1 - 2 years of heavy use, and while they are near impossible to open up and repair, SteelSeries has just been willing to replace them for me time and time again even though I'm well out of my warrenty now, they don't even ask for my receipt anymore.

Monitor - I'll echo the opinions of the comments above on this. Do you even have a system that can play games at 120FPS? Coming right down to it, I find most game that acheive above 30FPS I dont' really notice the framerate, so 120MHz would be overkill to me, but I know people who have (tried to) justified their purchase.

personally after my 6gv2 broke my blacks... I would of went to the same one with cherry. but found the trigger sport posidon z to be nicer

ans I use the Logitech g930 7.1 head set and love it
