Good Case under $100?

Hi everyone,

I need a good case that is under $100 for my gaming rig, it MUST have built in dust filters, it MUST have built in fans in which I won't need to by any additional fans as I'm using an R9 290. Also it would be preferable that the case supports the length of the R9 290 which is around 300mm WITHOUT removing the drive cages. Also the case MUST be thinner than 215mm to fit into the spot beside my desk.

Thanks very much

Corsair makes good stuff maybe the 200R? or 300R?330r

But are the fans that the 300R, 330R have good enough of will I need to buy additional fans?

i can vouch for the 300R, best case i've ever had.

What's your fan configuration for it?

i removed the lower drive cage by drilling out the rivets. so i have 2x140mm in front blowing in

2x140mm on top blowing out (on 7volts adapter so lower rpm's) and one 120mm in the black blowing out.

I have a Corsair 400r which I added 4 120mm fans to, but mostly just because I could. It's a great case, but I think it's a little bit over $100. I would assume the 300r is of similar quality though.

Would I be able to get away with having the default fans which would be one 140mm blowing in on the front and one 120mm blowing out in the back, even with an R9 290, and an i5-4670K with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO?

as long as you also have a fan on the EVO you should be good.

Ok thanks a lot

You mean the default fan that the EVO has right?

Fractal Design Core 3000 - dust filters for front intake (foam) and PSU (fine metal mesh), no filters for the bottom fan (if you are using it), no dust filters for top fan location. Width: 200mm.

NZXT Source 220: no dust filters anywhere, no SSD mounts anywhere (WTF, NZXT?). Width: 195mm. I'm mentioning it because I really like the looks.

Corsair 200r: Dust filters for front intake (basic filters) and for PSU. No filters for bottom fan location, top fan location and crappy, plastic hard drive cage.

Corsair 500r: freaking huge, but slim enough.

Besides what the other people have mentioned.

do you have something against buying fans?

How about the corsair 300r? Or, if I do happen to get a little more money how about the NZXT 410?

The Phantom 410 is freaking gorgeous. No dust filter in the front, no dust filter in the side panel, and only a basic filter for the PSU (the kind that is just a simple mesh kept in place by metal tabs).

Good news! I managed to get some more space open and now I can fit some bigger cases. How about the Fractal Define R4? I've heard really good things about it, and Logan uses one.

I've never used one, but the Define R4 is one of the highest rated cases on PCPartPicker right now. It's also on sale at NCIX for $80 + $7 shipping.

Another case might be something like the Corsair C70. Has filters along the bottom and the front and 90% of it is made out out of steel. The only things that aren't steel are the grommets around the motherboard, the side window, the black trim around the window, and part of the handles. I'm not sure if any are on sale for under $100 right now though.

Yeah, everyone has an R4, maybe you want to go for something different.

How about an NZXT Source 530? Dust filters everywhere except the top vents, side window, fan hub, ample room for radiators (a 360 in the top, a 280 in front, a 240 at the bottom AND still have two hard drive cages), 310mm GPU length without removing any hard drive cages.

And it looks really slick.

Another option would be the an Arc Midi.
