I need it for a fx-6300 and will be planning on doing SLI in the future
I had the exact same problem as you. At first I wanted to go with this motherboard: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130637
But it did not come with an SLI bridge and you would need a BiOS flash. So just went over my budget a bit and bought this: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131874
It's $116 after rebate. That is a very solid deal. And it would be better for next-gen CPU's form AMD.
for a sli setup i would realy recommend to pickup a 990FX chipsetboard, like Asus M5A99Fx pro R2.0 or if you not plan to go into big overclocks then the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-ud3 would not be a bad choice.
grtz Angel ☺
Asus 970 chipsetboards don´t support sli only theire 990(F)X boards.
i would only recommend a asus board, in this case the asus M5A99FX pro R2.0 if he also want to go into extreme overclockings.
The Gigabyte 990FX ud3 is not a great overclocker. but as i said before, if you dont plan to go into that, then you can´t arguing for the price of it.
cheaping out on a mobo is never a good idea. i would personaly stay with a single gpu setup by the way.
i may do minor overclocks so i will look into the aus m5a99fx pro r2.0
so i guess i should get a asus 990fx board?
best choice, if you can get to a microcenter they usually have some open box ones for pretty cheap (though they dont always test them to make sure they work)
Lets make this simple and easy
1. Do you have a decent heat sink or a water cooler?
2. Will you be going SLI in the future?
Lets be real here, if your going to do minor overclock then there is no point, increasing the clock speed by a 100 or even 300 isnt worth it as you wont see a major differnce maybe if you going on a high end chip such as a 8350.
i will being doing sli in the future and i will invest in CM Hyper 212 Evo.Honestly ill learn to overclock and see if i need a really good heatsink and fan
