GOG is comming to Linux

So not all of the games are new. Some are merely emulated. Still nice to see love for Linux

It's a shame I already bought most of the games I am interested in on steam, I would have gone more DRM free if that was an option, but there are always more games of course.

Here's to hoping Origin and UPlay come to linux as well (Along with their games)

I can see Origin if Steamboxes take off. EA loves to have their hands in as much stuff as possible. I wouldn't hold my breath for UPlay.

GOG said they plan on porting/emulating some classics as well so I am pretty happy about that.

Read about it earlier today. It's great to see more and more publishers porting and publishing to Linux.

Well some of the games should be pretty straight forward to port to Linux. A lot of the older games just run in a pre-configured Dosbox on Windows, and there's already a Linux version of Dosbox.

100 games. Interesting.

All the oldies that I play already run perfectly fine with Wine.

Except The Longest Journey. God dammit. I've been wanting to play that game again for years. It could probably run flawlessly in a Windows VM, but I don't want to look at Windows again.

Anyway, good, good job GOG. This will be a great incentive for game developers to start coding for linux.

excellent :D

They are porting frostbite to linux, so I expect origin to come soon.
