Gobble Gobble recipes

So, this will be for everyone to post their recipes and what they are making for Thanksgiving.
Hell, even if you don't celebrate thanksgiving, make a feast and pig the fuck out.

I'm going the turkey this year at my house. I'm using Alton Brown's recipe for brine

And then I'm going to be stuffing flavored butter under the skin of the turkey breast. Probably just sage, rosemary, thyme, etc. But I'm also going to add a bit of Herbs De Provence and maybe some onion powder just to kick things up a bit.

I am watching the Gordon Ramsey video you posted.

My cuz wants me to email him my Turkey instructions.
When I do, I'll post here as well.

I'm also doing the stuffing in a bag this year.

I don't have reusable cotton bags, but I am going to use cheesecloth to make a bag instead.

Anybody fry their turkey? Or did you burn your house down already?

I would, but my parents claim it's terrible.

I would claim they just don't know how to fucking cook lol

Did this a few years in a row. Taste great fresh. Leftovers are horrible.

I wish I could try frying, but as I have to cook for my parents, I can't really do "anything weird". It took me a while to convince them to let me brine it. Ended up convincing them by brining a chicken and showing them how much juicier it was when brined.

I wish I lived on my own. They just aren't adventurous in their cooking. I actually want to try a beer can turkey. (think beer can chicken, but turkey instead)

Most expensive thing about frying is the peanut oil

I bet.

We already have the necessary large pot (like, 32 quarts or something like that). Although the burner on the stand for it is messed up and needs to be replaced.

Some year when you move out make it...
Then offer it as left overs without saying what it is.

Get them back for all the years of lima beans or spinach or whatsits lol

I am doing a brine as well. Sage, rosemary, thyme, chicken stock, wheat beer, and a cup of kosher salt boiled and then cooled.

And I make a compound butter with the same herbs and rub it under the turkey skin.

Any one put meat in their stuffing I have a smoked pork sausage I will be adding to my stuffing.

Sadly, all my parents will use is that stuffing you get in a bag.

I think I might try to slip some diced up bacon into the flavored butter though.

Sounds like a good idea

Because it is only for two people it make more since for me to do it this way instead of cooking a full ham when I get home I will write up my mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing.

I'm cooking for 3 this year

Cooking for 5.

Myself, my parents, my sister and my grandfather.

I'm gonna be a dick this year, and rest the turkey for as long as it cooks. Make the unpleasant fuckers wait for their meal lol

I am definitely making this for Christmas.

It's funny, I extremely dislike my family, but I love cooking big complicated meals, so the only way I get to cook is if I cook for the bastards lol

Well, I live with them year round so....constant drama.

I mainly dislike how limiting they are in their cooking. They won't ever let me try anything new.
