So, this will be for everyone to post their recipes and what they are making for Thanksgiving. Hell, even if you don't celebrate thanksgiving, make a feast and pig the fuck out.
I'm going the turkey this year at my house. I'm using Alton Brown's recipe for brine
And then I'm going to be stuffing flavored butter under the skin of the turkey breast. Probably just sage, rosemary, thyme, etc. But I'm also going to add a bit of Herbs De Provence and maybe some onion powder just to kick things up a bit.
I wish I could try frying, but as I have to cook for my parents, I can't really do "anything weird". It took me a while to convince them to let me brine it. Ended up convincing them by brining a chicken and showing them how much juicier it was when brined.
I wish I lived on my own. They just aren't adventurous in their cooking. I actually want to try a beer can turkey. (think beer can chicken, but turkey instead)
We already have the necessary large pot (like, 32 quarts or something like that). Although the burner on the stand for it is messed up and needs to be replaced.
Because it is only for two people it make more since for me to do it this way instead of cooking a full ham when I get home I will write up my mashed potatoes, gravy and stuffing.
