Gigabyte RMA inquiry

Hey all! Anyone know the estimated time of RMA process at Gigabyte in CA? I dropped off my z170 motheboard 3 weeks ago and havent had an update for more than 2 weeks. Thanks!

I'd give them a call. I sent in my GPU a while back and it only took about 10 days from start to finish. The two components could have different warehouses, RMA procedures, etc., but that sounds like an awful long time without update.

A little less than 2 weeks ago, i called because they updated the rma to repaired. I called them, at the time, and the guy said it was in need of a replacement and they would notify me when it was ready to pick up. I will call them again, today.

Be sure to keep us updated.

Although it does not involve an RMA, I have been having a back and forth conversation with some of the support staff over the last couple weeks about some interesting bug/occurrences with a beta BIOS. It's been mildly frustrating, because even though the conversation is through text, I can tell that they are not the most proficient in English and communication is difficult - I'm probably getting responses from someplace in Taiwan. They've been courteous and helpful, thusfar, but I'm just saying.

Most likely reason you're hearing from Taiwan is that most of the BIOS makers are actually there...

Call them and request an update, if they say you're waiting on a replacement ask what's the current line look like for a replacement and why is it taking so long

i gave them a call earlier. The person i spoke with today had no clue why there hasnt been an rma status update in 2 weeks. I told him I spoke with someone else about 2 weeks ago who said they couldnt repiar and will replace it. That same person said I will be notified when the replacement is ready to pick up. So the person i spoke with today said most likely it will get replaced if it hasn't been repaired yet. In the meantime, he will notify the engineers as to why it wasn't repaired. He finished by saying I should get another update by the end of the week. That's gigabyte, I guess.

Oh yeah, I knew that pretty much every mainboard manufacturer has its headquarters in Taiwan, which is why I assumed that the messages were from someplace in Taiwan, as opposed to India.

I actually have no clue how the support for Gigabyte generally is. I've heard mixed reviews about ASUS, with some real horror stories, although I have never had any personal issues. I've had a couple encounters with Biostar, and they have been fairly helpful. It's always interesting to see how a company treats its customers.
