So finally all of my parts arrived from Melbourne.
My idea behind this build was to simply create a pc that will be light years ahead of my old pc (a 2009 store bought HP P606a media pc) for a modest budget of AUD $1400 that will play the latest games at high settings and have the ability to upgrade in the future so I never have to own another fucking gaming console as long as I live. So here is what I chose:
CPU: Intel i5 4570 (i have no interest in overclocking at the moment so I didn't bother with an unlocked cpu)
GPU: Gainward GTX 760 2gb
Motherboard: ASRock h87 performance
PSU: Seasonic M12II 520w
SSD: Sandisk Extreme II 120gb
HDD: WD Green 1tb
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L12
RAM: 16gb Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz Dual Channel Kit
Extra Fan: Bitfenix 140mm Spectre Pro
Case: Fractal Design Define r4 (I know everyone uses this case but I love it so much I just don't care)
OS: Windows 7 & Ubuntu.
Peripherals (not included in budget but this is what I am currently using this pc with)
- Mionix Naos 3200 (best mouse I have ever used)
- Corsair K70 Keyboard (best keyboard I have ever used)
- Mionix Propus 380 Mouse Pad (you're good too)
- Razer Kraken Headphones Black (I mostly play counterstrike and racers and the music I listen to rarely has good production so spending extra cash on top tier headphones just isn't necessary. They're comfortable and sound not bad which is good enough for me)
- LG Flatron 19" W1941s Monitor (p.o.s I bought with my old pc, needs a replace when funds allow)
All in all im stoked with the way its turned out, the cpu cooler was a bit scary I didn't think it was going to fit but it did and I like it alot more than your average tower heatsink all I need now is a new monitor and the window side panel and my set up will be complete. Oh and this is my first experience with a SSD believe the hype, all I can say is holy shit its fast.
Got something to say? Don't be shy. I interested to hear your comments and/or criticism.
