Getting Skype to work on a PPC (Ubuntu 12.04)

Hello guys,
I am quite new to Linux,
Recently I have been trying to revive an old PowerBook G4
///specs
1Ghz
2 Gb DDR ram

So I installed a version of Linux that works on a PPC architecture.
The problem I am facing is that Skype (as well as many other Microsoft applications) do not function on PPC architecture

If anyone knows a fix for it could you please share your knowledge

Since skype isn't available for PPC and it's closed source, the only way to run it is to emulate an x86 architecture using for example qemu. In other words: you will have to run a VM with a seperate OS installation.
