I currently have a few old webcams that I use for security cameras. Hooked up to my PC via USB running Win 8.1 Pro with iSpy as the program. They work great as cameras. But what I'm interested in is if anyone knows of a better way other than paying for software to get notifications on my phone. Something like setting up a new twitter account and set it up for notifications and have an alert posted there, upload the file to something. Maybe something to monitor the folder and then alert me when new files arrive. The key is that I'm looking for a FREE option. Thru like scripts or batch files or something. I would love to get an alert WITH the video file, but I'd also be okay with just a text alert to go check.
There's this program called YAW cam (stands for yet another webcam). It has an email alerts and a bunch of other options. Might work for you.
