Getting rid of Virus

Hello everyone,  I did not know if this was the right forum area to post this in so forgive me if I am wrong.  I am having an issue with a really sneaky virus that is on my computer.  I have Avast and Malwarebytes that I use to get rid of viruses.  Neither one of these antiviruses can find the the issue.  I do not know what else to do at this point.

I go to school online and I have to one of their programs that I have to log into.  However, I cannot log in unless I am in a Network Safe Mode.  The tech support says that I wont be able to log into the system because the their systems are detecting a virus of some sort so it is kicking me out.  I was on the line with tech support for a couple of hours trying to figure out why I could not log on the system.  He said that the best thing for me to do is to go get it removed by a professional.  I am asking for your help before I resort to the professionals.

I do not have an anti-spyware and if you guys think that I need one, can you guys refer one to me that is free?  Thank you for your help in this matter.

I also use Avast and Malwarebytes, and if those don't work I go to System Restore or a refresh in Win8. If that doesn't work it might be best to just clean boot your whole system. GL!

Best one and a half our video i've watched. Great stuff. I've had trouble with antivirus's in the past and now I don't trust ANY!

Wipe, reinstall if it is in fact a virus. I would look to the malware thing first. Do a boot scan. Dont forget a browser scan with avast. Whats with the warning bugs ?

I just downloaded Malwarebytes and found 60 threats that Avast didn't find and quarantined them. Restarted, And OMG is my PC soo much faster :D.. Thanks for this thread lol

Your welcome. LOL...Now if I can fix my problem.

Dude, wipe the drive.

This is where you go to get viruses removed.  These are the pros not your local pc store.

Here is a pretty good program that I use. It is pretty ugly, but here you go.

CNET DOWNLOAD- http://cnet.co/1kkTtHa

(Look at the CNET rating first)

my favourite way of cleaning an infested windows (besides wiping the machine) is to get a linux live cd with ClamAV

http://sourceforge.net/projects/antiviruslivecd/

--------

if you don't like the prepacked thing you can always download something like a xubuntu live cd/usbstick and sudo apt-get install clamav

--------

by booting into a clean Operating system you make it much easier for the Antivirusoftware, because the virus can't interfere with the removal.

ComboFix is essentially a nuclear bomb of AV programs. I recommend it as a last option as you have no control over what it does. But it does get the job done. I also recommend running AdwCleaner, Rkill, and TDSSKiller. Also maybe run the program in a VM it might just be an overly sensitive poorly programmed piece of software (McAfee). If all else fails reinstall Windows. But in my experience I've never seen a virus walk away from Combofix still functioning.

I would use a GNU/Linux distro live cd with ClamAV.

I use a program called "SpyHunter"  and if and when it finds a "Threat" (Virus) then it lets me "Fix Threats" and it removes all of them and sometimes it will reboot my system and will Boot Scan. The only Con i guess is that the software costed me around $30 and i can sign the account in on any amount of computers i choose and the $30 was for life, i never had to pay it again.

I agree with the people who mentioned booting from a live cd, if possible. Otherwise if it's windows 8 then use the refresh option. Microsoft Security Essentials is a really good free AV. You can try clean booting with no services enabled and gradually enable them one by one until you see which is causing the problem.
