I ordered headphones. Meantime I tried to figure out how to set them up so I can enable/disable them with software so I don't have to fiddle with it every time I don't feel like using them. Is it possible to sett them up so they are connected to back panel and as separate device? There must be a way to split of one of six audio jacks.
if you are in windows all you have to do is right click volume in the taskbar, playback devices, and set whatever output you want to default
i don't think i understand the second part, set them as a seperate device to what? what exactly do you mean by "split up one of the jacks"?
The integrated sound card on my MotherBord has six audio jacks and one of them registers as headphones but the thing is that the sound is broadcasted both to headphones and speakers since on same sound card. I am wondering if there is a way of setting it up so I can have speakers on without headphones blasting and other way around. What I meant with "split up one of the jacks" that if it is possible to have jack that is under headphones to be its own device in playback devices. Yes, I am using windows.
not possible, (i'm not going to give a though explanation as my vocabulary is failing me at the moment) but i'm fairly certain the rear jacks cannot be split into different devices, you would have to use the front panel jack/header (you might want to attempt to shield the wires going to the header)
basically it comes down to audio being a "dumb" input/output signal, no interfacing with the operating system
