Hi all, I'm buying a GPU finally that will make my system kickass but I'm caught between buying now (AMD cause motherboard only supports crossfire) or waiting for the 'Tonga' GPUs which are rumoured to be coming out soon. What is your opinion?
Also here are my specs if you are interested:
DF-85 case with all 8 fans
Corsair 750W Tx Series PS
Gigabyte 1150 GA-ZH7-DEHP Motherboard (Crossfire no SLI)
Intel i5 4670k CPU
Corsair 16GB (2x8) DDR3 2400MHz
No Graphics Card yet integrated graphics all the way!
Edit: I'm also running 2 screen multi screen looking to add a 3rd screen pretty soon.
Running more than 1 monitor I always recommend an AMD card for people. Eyefinity is much more better than Nvidia surround. And if you a high end card like R9 290X, pairing another one with it you can run as much monitors you need. Even 1 card can run 6 monitors via displayport alone. ALSO, R9 290 series has adaptive sync controller that can in the next displayport version, support adaptive sync when it is implemented on next displayport standard. Adaptive sync is same kind of technology as Nvidia G-sync. Lets your GPU's to control monitor refresh rates. So I will put my thumbs up for an AMD R9 290 card.
Tonga will also get 2048 stream processors, but only 2GB vram probably. The only diffrence with the 280X will be less vram, and less power consumpion, but it will not be faster i suppose so yeah.
