Getting back to gaming(New pc)

First of all, sorry for my bad english!

It's been a long time since i last build a computer, my current system are like 8+ years old, amd phenom 9650 quad core so its old ;)

might be the system not sure yet:
(sorry for no links but i am not from the US! )

SYSTEM:

Intel Core i7-5930K 3.5GHz Socket 2011-3 Box
Asus X99-Deluxe
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 DIMM PC25600/3200MHz CL16 4x4GB Black
Corsair Hydro H110i GT CPU Cooler
ASUS GeForce NVIDIA GTX 970 4GB DDR5 OC 2xDVI/HDMI/DisplayPort DirectCU II Fan STRIX
Samsung 850 EVO Basic SSD 500GB

First question: 5930k vs 6700K - Should i go for Skylake(6700K) for the upgradeable ability(word?)
2nd question; Motherboard is asus still as reliable as before? back in the old days!

any advice would be nice!!

Thanks for your time!

For gameing grab an i5 the i7-5930k isent for gameing and games will not use the i7 6700K's hyper threading.
Since you seam to have a large budget a i5-6600k with a 980ti will be the best for gameing

Where are you located? And what's your budget? Seems like your budget is rather high, if you're just gaming you'd be fine with a haswell i5 and a higher end GPU like a Fury, though non US so dunno the price/availability. if it's anything like the US, the 390 costs as much as the 970, but has 125% more VRAM, and may just have full DX12 support

As mentioned above, you will be just fine with an i5, something like 4690K... With decent motherboard and cooler you may even overclock it and have a great cpu for the next few years.
Now, as for gpu, my suggestion is run away from Asus. Their motherboards are still top notch, their GPU's - not so much.
For Nvidia I would go with EVGA, Gigabyte or Palit Getstream. For AMD I would go with Sapphire or Gigabyte. And I would personally go for Fury non X. No matter 980Ti is better performance wise, soon DX12 will be a thing, and at the moment AMD seems more prepared for it. Vulkan will also come out of the closet, and AMD Is more prepared for it, since it is based on Mantel, that AMD is supporting for the last couple of years or so.

I am from Denmark, and everything is more expensive her!

Budget around 3.000 USD

Radeon FURY X cost 825USD in denmark, so 225 USD more then in the US! and 970 cost 375,29 USD!

The reason behind the more expensive cpu, are so i dont have to upgrade it for the next 3+years! (and the spec´s are much better - futureproofing/future-proofing)

do you know, are intel going to drop the 2011-v3 socket?
And it's always easier to change a GPU instead of a CPU/Motherboard combo!

You won't need the X99 platform to not have to upgrade for a few years for gaming, and an overclocked i5 is going to out perform a 5820k overall, by the time most games are utilizing more than 4 threads way faster CPUs are going to be out

Do you know if you can order PC parts from germany?

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/

Not a big fan of Gigabyte... But Sapphire wow still useing them in my current system! best ATI/AMD "maker"

Old AMD AND ATI FANBOY... miss the old days!

And thansk for all the nice info!

Yeah i can order from Germany - We use the same rules at the rest of EU, but i dont speak any german and my english is poor at best! so kind of hard if anything goes wrong with the parts!

The price differences between 4690K vs i7-5930K in price are 113 USD, and for me i would gladly pay the extra for a better cpu(on the charts) so i 99% sure that i am going for the i7-5930K or the 6700k! - but then again skylake might be more future proof!

I guess at your budget you might as well get the x99 build, gimme a second

It's like 2800 Euros right?

It is not future proof at all... The performance difference between much cheaper 4690K and 113$ more expensive 5930 is inside the margin of error. Gaming wise you will not gain anything by spending extra cash on the CPU.
Also, 4690K, being i5, outperforms 6600K in gaming, again in the freaking margin of error.
So performance wise it's pointless to spend the extra cash...
I would rather suggest CF or SLI, since if I am not mistaken DX12 natively support multiple GPU setups?!? If I am mistaken correct me pls...

Very close - 2.677,91 EUR so the same ;)

All the info i can find about DX12 says its natively support multiple GPU! All my pc knowledge are outdated by like 7years, might even be more!

Well there's plenty of room in the budget for things like a 4k monitor and peripherals, you could swap the 390 SLI for a 980ti, but given DX12 developments that might not be that best option overall. Or swap the 390s for a non X fury card, I couldn't find any fury cards available on the part picker

1700 Euro 5820k + 390 8gb x2

If you spend more money on it you'll be losing a lot of performance per dollar, so I'd recommend you spend it on other things like a nice chair or even custom water cooling.

Feel free to swap the case, it's just my personal favorite.

380 Euro 4k IPS monitor

just use google translate or chrome has built in translation for websites

Thanks alot sir!!

Like your build! ;)

Really soon, like in a few days, PowerColor will release 390 Dual Core Devil 13 card. It's a triple slot card with two 390s in CF... It is huge and ugly and i love it... It is so ugly god, it's so ugly...

Quick article:

I didn't see it in the article, but the price was arount 690-700$

That's also an option, but like, wouldn't 2 separate cards be able to cool themselves better? That thing being a 3 slot card seems like it's more for certain ITX set ups, or micro ATX set ups where the board only has 1 PCI-e slot.

Actually, the HAF XB will be kind of a perfect fit for this thing, since the motherboard will take the pressure of it, and not only the PCI-e slot. Also, as ugly as it is, those 3 fans are actually 6. Under the big 3 there are 3 more, that as far as i understand help with the pressure. My only concern with this will be the noise. Yeah, 6 fans on lower RPM will push more air and produce less noise than 3 fans on higher RPM, however PowerColor has never been the quietest when it comes to coolers, even though their Devil series of GPUs are aggressively cool when it comes to thermals.
It is just an idea... It's around the price of 980Ti and around the performance of 295X2, meaning beating TitanX where CF works...

you could always maybe just turn the fans down a bit to get the noise down, or maybe someone will make a custom water block for it with 2 channels for each GPU. That would be pretty neat

6 fans would be pretty crazy though, seems like that's something they could have hybrid water cooled, like maybe only one core gets the water cooling while the other is air cooled.

Should we make another topic about this card? I think we are getting a bit away from the point...
However, to get even further away:

That would force you to either build a water cooling loop, or downright break the deal...
May be they have different profiles for the fans and the extra 3 small ones only run when the temperature gets over certain point. Otherwise, only the 3 larger ones cool the humongous radiator. As most of us know, 3 fans on low rpm can be pretty quiet and still dissipate a lot of heat.
I was just thinking it's a cool idea, the dual 390 GPU with air cooling... The older version, 295X2 had watercooler...
