When I saw this challenge occur last month I thought this was a fantastic idea so instead of my usual lurking behaviours I would contribute and hope this idea continues to grow and help bring more creativity out of wonderful community.
My very first guitar was a relatively cheap Ashton as you see below which is now about 12 years old
The strings had long since been removed but I hung onto it for sentimental reasons and I decided to not only bring it back to life and also to reinvigorate it (we have the technology :P)
I purchased a set of strings and a Acoustic/Electric kit (Fishman Presys Blend 301) and got right into it.
First I marked out the areas which I would need to cut out
Next the culling... I mean cutting
I forgot to take a picture of the lead hole :3
I made the executive decision to not go ballistic with photos so here are shots with the parts finally installed
Control Box and Lead Plug
Pick up
And here is the final product in one shot :)
And for the keen observers - yes, I did break my g-string :/ which my GF also found quite amusing. (to eager on tuning and did not let the string rest long enough haha)
So there you have it - maybe for next month I will record something on it and supply to the community shrug
