General tips on taking care of laptop batteries?

Would it be that much worse if I just let the battery in the laptop and only set the software to start charging when it reaches 30% and stop charging when it hits 60%? (those are the limits the software lets me choose, >60% and <30%)

Starting next week I'll be taking my laptop with me at least twice a week and removing/putting the battery back in is a bit annoying (held in by tiny screws). And just taking the laptop without the battery but with the charger with me is not an option.

Should be good.

I know it's a pain, but keeping the battery always plugged in, especially with the power cord in, it's gonna kill it.

I guess that I'll just have to adapt to that then.
It's a shame that batteries are still that "fragile".
