Gaming Ryzen Build - Opinions?

CAD$ with taxes and shipping

Any problems running AAA games at 1080p? Good enough bang for buck? Should I go with something else? What do you think?

Thanks for the help!

Looks solid to me.

You COULD opt for a Ryzen quad core, and get a GTX 1070, though this is what I would do as an American, not sure what the market is like in Canada.

Just a thought, tech city did some benchmarks with a ryzen quad core recently:

But if you're doing work that justifies the 6 core, go for it.

I would pay what should be just a little extra for the 1600X model. Its default clocks are so good that you'll never have to consider fiddling with any overclocking. Unless you weren't thinking of overclocking the 1600 anyway, as it's certainly fast as it is.
Definitely go 6-cores for the future, or even todays well coded games.

For this system (even with a GTX 1070, which can draw at most 225w), a decent 450W PSU would be ample (e.g. a cx450m). Or you can go for a 500W PSU if you think you'll ever buy a >450-500$ video card.
As for the memory, I think the G.Skill is insanely overpriced for the performance delta relative to, say, a cmk16gx4m2b3000c15 set (which is about 60% of the price, while performing basically the same). Same goes for the nvme drive -- it'll be faster, but I doubt you'll get much out of it relative to a ssd. It'll definitely play 1080p60 at ultra.

Are those prices really Canadian dollars or US? That GTX 1060 is seriously overpriced regardless.

Jet $255 - 5 - 35 + tax = $215 + tax : https://jet.com/product/MSI-GeForce-GTX-1060-Graphics-Card/dc2af768782140018286c796a0dccef1

$215 US is ~$283 CAD.

Newegg $250 + $5 shipping + tax -15 rebate = $240 + tax AR : https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137053&cm_re=gtx_1060-_-14-137-053-_-Product

$240 US is ~$316 CAD.

I also I can't seem find that memory on ASRock's MQVL: http://www.asrock.com/MB/AMD/AB350M%20Pro4/index.asp#Memory

And there is a 40% price jump between the 2600 and 3200 versions of that kit.

My 1060 6gb cost 300$ last year. So yeah 360$ is way too much.

And 244$ for 16gb of ANYTHING is too expensive.

same amount same speed cheaper + rgb. you could shave off another 30-50$ while keeping the speed and amount by using cheaper ram with no rgb.
also as someone with a 1070, beware micron memory as it is significantly slower then the Samsung and less overclockable. also 480/580>1060 and 1070>580/480. also if i were you i would invest in a decent cooler as the 1600 should be able to hit 3.9-4.1 with something like a dh15 or most liquid coolers. it oc's slightly better then the 8 cores.

I think you can consider RX 580 in most games it should be better than GTX 1060 and it should be cheaper. I'm not sure about prices in Canada but I can get one 25-50$(USD) cheaper in local store. It is good enough to play AAA games in 1080p.

I'd also definitely go with 6c, it's more future proof. If you don't really need the extra speed of a NVMe drive you coild pick a SATA SSD with 500MB for roughly the same price.
Also, I'd get a rx580 instead of the 1060.

Abd to answer ypur question: 1080p with these specs shouldn't be a problem.

That would be a good stock chip as long as you also budget for a cheap AIO. The Hyper might not let you get the boost to 4.0 MHz .

You could also take a cheaper case and look at a 1070, or wait to see what Oct holds for Vega pricing. Though, them getting cheaper in OCT is just a rumor. Also, a standard 500Gb SSD may be more cost-effective.
