Alright guys Im buying a new gaming pc and putting it together myself (first time) and I was wondering if these are good specs for a relatively decent gaming pc. And was wondering if you have any suggestions or improvements for it. Budget is around $1000. Feedback is much appreciated
Intel Core i5 3570
Corsair GS-600 V2 Power Supply
ASRock Fatal1ty Z77 Performance Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9R 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3
EVGA GeForce GTX 680 2GB
CoolerMaster HAF XM Case (Is case this good for cooling?)
thanks for reading/replying
It looks like a pretty decent build, but why not go with the 3570K and do some overclocking? If you're not comfortable with overclocking since this is your first time building a PC, then you don't have to overclock right away, but you may want to eventually once you learn how to.
Also, it looks like you forgot storage, unless you're just using an old hard drive.
Give me a few minutes and I'll post something for around $1000 just to see if I can make a better overall system.
This is what I would get for $1000:

The 7950 and GTX 660 TI are pretty much interchangeable though, so figure out which would be better for the games that you play by looking up some benchmarks. Both of the cards exchange blows and they're priced similarly.
Thanks man, i used some of the parts you suggested and saved me about $100. Cheers. I havnt fully decided about all the parts but this real helpful thanks
Yeah i forgot the hard drive, just gonna use a regular 1tb hd and a regular dvd/cd burner
Very nice! I'm glad I could help!
Everything Vortex88 said is on point and great advice man, listen to him!
I really should start building computers on the side for some extra cash, lol.
Just think, and online store called "Vortex Computers."
Concept names for different builds: Cyclone, Maelstrom, Vortex, Super Massive Black Hole, Super Nova, etc.
Haha you should if you enjoy it, good money too!
Lol, I do enjoy it, but I'm not sure how I would go about setting up a website for it. I'm not sure how much it would cost to pay for hosting either, and I'm not going to spend the money to host a site if it's not profitable.
good solid choice of RAM... around $40 and great performance, definitely go with the 3570k... unlocked and greater preformance once overclocked, but all around real nice setup for a grand. you seem to know enough about comprootas, you got this maaaaaan
