Gaming pc under $700 AUD

Hello guys,

I live in australia and I'm looking to build a good gaming pc but doesn't break the bank. I want to play most modern games on medium to high settings.( BF3,WOW, all the CODs, Portal 2 etc. my budget is roughly about $700. But I also need a monitor, keyboard, mouse and operating system(windows 7). I need at least 8gb ram and 500gb of storage. And a about 18.5" and up monitor. I'm not to sure about the rest.

Please could you help me

Many thanks :)

Between the keyboard, mouse, monitor, and OS, you're out $255. Essentially, you're asking for a $400 gaming PC, which is quite frankly can't play games at high settings, at least not on 1080. Here was the cheapest I could go that will meet your expectations.

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit with SP1 OEM $95.00

CoolerMaster Elite 430 Black with window $49.00

AMD FX-4300 4 Core Processor $135.00

Western Digital WD Blue 500GB WD5000AAKX $62.00

Gigabyte KM6000 Keyboard and Mouse Set $19.00

Corsair CMX8GX3M2B1600C9 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 $49.00

ASUS VE228H 21.5in Widescreen LED Monitor $149.00

ASRock 970DE3-U3S3 Motherboard $69.00

Silverstone Strider 500W ST50F-ES $59.00

Powercolor Radeon HD7770 GHz Edition 1GB $109.00

Sub Total is $795.00

You could shave $4 by going with the CM Elite 334U case, but that won't make much of dent.

My best advice advice would go the route of AMD's Trinity APU and ride out integrated graphics until you can afford a worthwhile GPU (at least a 7770, but I'd recommend 7850 or better).

Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit with SP1 OEM $95.00

Western Digital WD Blue 500GB WD5000AAKX $62.00

Gigabyte KM6000 Keyboard and Mouse Set $19.00

ASUS VE228H 21.5in Widescreen LED Monitor $149.00

Silverstone Strider 500W ST50F-ES $59.00

CoolerMaster Elite 334U Case $45.00

G.Skill F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 $56.00

AMD A10 5800K 4-Core Processor $135.00

ASRock FM2A55M-DGS Motherboard $65.00

And the subtotal for that comes out to $684.00

With the APU, you can get playable frames at medium to high settings at 720p, or low settings at 1080p.

Hey bluey, I live in Australia too, and i have to say what you ask is simply not possible without making some big sacrafices.

Take this system for example it is within your budget but uses a terrible processor in order to keep costs down. I would suggest somthing along the lines of this system, but try to swap the G860 with an i3 3220. It will be considerably faster. This will cost $50 more however, and you still need to take the monitor, keyboard and mouse into consideration.

Find you local computer shop, wherever you live, and see how much these parts would cost to buy, you can cut down in certain areas to sove money if need be, like only a 500Gb HDD and 4Gb of RAM. You canusually pick up a keyboard mouse combo for $10 there as well. As for the monitor, thats up to you.

Good luck with your build
