Gaming PC Under $1000AUD

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to get the best gaming PC for under $1000 AUD. I've come up with the system bellow, Let me know what I can do better?

I don't like the 450W PSU its a little bit under-powered , but the Case comes with the Thermaltake Litepower 450W PSU. which is cheaper than buying CASE + PSU Separately.

End result would be something that will play max on current and high / max on newer games coming out in the next few years. The gaming resolution would be 1080p so there shouldn't be too much demand in comparison to 1440p, 4k & above.

Thanks guys

You should get an i5 with a 380, that way you aren't CPU bottlenecked in the future if you upgrade your GPU, an AMD chip really wouldn't be worth it over an i5 unless maybe you were streaming or needing to do virtual machine work

and an H170 board, and a much better power supply, case+PSU combos are usually low end crap that will fry your components if any real stress is put on them, that's not even enough wattage really to handle a 390.

Thanks for the articles, I'll definitely read up on the AMD...

Thanks, the problem with PC Part Picker for Australia is it doesn't include shipping... but I'll have a look at your parts list and see what the actual price comes out to be.

Do you think 4GB Graphics card is good enough for next few years?

It's the cheapest 380 anyways, if you need to get the price down just live without a case for a while

I tried your Parts List with MWave and it came to $1163.08... I wish the australian shops would add shipping onto PC Part picker...

It's a good build though. I Like it. The Red Tesseract SW Red Case would look amazing with the Asrock MB...

AMD fx 8320 $227.99 + Aftermarket cooler $

Intel i5 6500 $305.00

Australia is terrible for PC Parts Prices...

Except for hard drives, they hardly get a mark up for some reason

Too bad AMD didn't bundle the new wraith cooler with all their FX CPUs, and cut back on the number of cut down versions and drop the prices, I am pretty sure the process is very mature now that they aren't getting many defective ones, if the stopped lazing of cores so eagerly and down-clocking then they would have much more competitive offerings.

Actually the energy efficient E variants coupled with the wraith would be quiet nice.

At this stage margins aren't really that important, and it is not like they are selling many anyway, market share and clearing inventory ahead of zen is important, may as well move as much volume as they can.. Oh well their loss....
