Gaming PC. FX-8350 VS. Intel i7 3770k

Sata III only matter to SSD's, so if more than 2 of those then yes but HDD's can even Saturate Sata II.

That's true, but my view is that the consumer should have the newest technology available so that he/she has more options available to them.

What does you volts look like for that 4.6ghz? Have you looked at watercooling kits yet? How are the temps with the GTX 580's in sli?

yea, it is future proofing for when SSD's become cheaper/more mainstream for large storage, but i think Intel will Pony up and give more features with future chipsets.

The market always forces the consumer to buy the newest things, even if he doesn't need them. That's why games are made with video card optimizations in mind, so they can turn the tide around.
Regarding the cpu, AMD is the obvious choice for gamers because of the lower cost and similar performance, intel may be big but AMD gave them some tough times a few years ago, and they aren't slacking either, when they made the trainwreck NetBurst, AMD was really innovating, and their value increased even in the eyes of fanboys.

The beauty of "upgrading" is actually researching the market and discussing on enthusiast forums what is better for the money, and how to maintain your system.

I dont know if youve read the previous posts but we have already talked about how odd those benchmarks were and how the fell far out of line with what the standard across all the other reviews were.

Buy one, see for yourself. I for one tend to believe an in between benchmark, not known sites as they become biased from time to time.

Also, you don't need more for gaming, and for productivity programs it beats the i5, not the 3770k though. It's good for the money, if you're gaming it's a good deal, that was the point of the video, to widen your already tiny z77+3570k+212 evo/h60 horizon.

I get that, but the thesting methodology is Flawed in a large degree, i agree theyre both neck and neck, but i doubt the 8350 absolutley crushes the 3570k espically in some tests by 50% and im not talking about like 2 big site reviews when im talking standard, im talking everyone doing benchamrks, how can the 8350 all of a sudden be so much better for gaming than the 3570k when both have been reviewed countless times over the months and no other review site has showed such a large gap, its not like theres a conspiracy across every review site. but in their reviews they dont use standardised test setups or a wide range of games, plus the GPU is the bottleneck so the CPU's arent even close to 100% load when playing, its impossible to come to a solid consluion after knowing that.

Its like Testing a Handa Civic and a Ferrari (not saying one is that much faster than the other and so stay with me) at who can go 30Mph both definitley can with relitave ease so you wont see any extra performance from the ferrari over the civic, who knows maybe the 8350 really is a bit better, but these tests arent going to prove that point in a concise and thorough manour with the way they test them.

Not really a good comparision, because one would have lower consumption per mile (intel :) ). Still I agree. EXCEPT

In the older days CPUs were tested like motherboards, as in, throw a good video card or the best, wouldn't matter if it could get the job done (7870 is fine), on low graphical quality, low resolution. There you see the frames per second difference. And there's variations from motherboard to motherboard, let alone the processors, although they might be close who knows (again if you really want to know, why not just buy one? I don't see what the big deal is, you want a cheap gaming pc, go for AMD of course, even if the benchmarks are saying otherwise, you know it won't make much difference to spend extra tens of dollars to go for intel, when the video card should be the gamer's primary concern)

if you live near a microcenter you should go there and get the i7 because its only $229

a 3770k for a gaming rig is ok...but why not just buy a 3570k because the hyperthreading isn't going to help majorly unless you're one of those fps hungry people.

but since an fx8350 is cheaper and is almost on par with the 3570k, but not buy the FX since it has more cores and it's ready for whatever you wanna do besides gaming, you never know.

So what if your frames are a lil bit lower on the FX...it's not like it's going to ruin your experience, You can still play games on it well. Ex- 100fps vs 120, etc
