I'm new to the community. I discovered tek syndicate on YouTube when searching on how to build a PC. This is going to be my first build. I have a budget of around $930, however I think I can squeeze in an extra $70.00, but I'm afraid I'll need a new monitor, so that takes me down to about $850.
This is the build I was playing around with tonight, but it's over my budget. What can I switch out without losing too much performance?

I already have Windows 8 and a mouse.
I hope it's easy to build, the thermal paste and installing the motherboard, CPU and cooler are a bit scary to me.
I would love to run games at high settings, like Rift and Skyrim. I'm tired of running low settings on my iMac 21.5" under Boot Camp. I decided to sell my Mac and build a PC.
I'm happy with my case and monitor selection. I really love those two based on the reviews.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I want to keep this system and upgrade it over time for many many years.
lose the sound card and unless you are gonna overclock this thing to like hell you can save 50 bucks and get a hyper 212 evo should give you a nice overclock too and up the memory to 1600mhz and some people might say go with the 8320 and save a couple bucks but its all up to you. You shouldnt see too much off a drop in performance in games (maybe 5 frames less)
You should get an 8320 and just Oc it to 8350 or even higher and get the same performance for less, then put the money into a better videocard, and you might be able to get away with something like a 21.5" monitor for 100$ it will be a TN panel though.
Thank you guys. Actually I think I'll be okay to squeeze out the $1150 now with the help of a new project I received for work. But I was wondering if you guys can look over my new specs and if you can recommend anything better at $1150. (Is the sound card built in okay for output gaming then?) Sorry for asking again, I just want your guys' expert opinions before I commit to purchasing the parts next week.

I'm going to be gaming, audio recording/editing/mixing on this machine. I am very nervous about custom PC's as I've gotten blue screens in the past.
(Sorry to BeyondNight, I really love that ASUS monitor, I just can't part with that one)
removing the sound card and the ram was really weaksauce. Tried out a cheaper PSU with more wattage and a slightly cheaper HDD and that gave you enough room for a 7950! I kept the monitor in the build so its around a grand.
oh no, I don't need a keyboard. I have a few lying around the house, LOL.
Thank you guys so much for the postings. I really appreciate it. Spenlard, I think I might just bump it to a Core i7 for $100 more. I think I can get $1100 now.
You guys saved me from building a crappy machine for the money. Thank you soo very much! I can't wait to buy all the parts and get going.
