Gaming PC for 1000-1500

Hey guys,

I'm looking to spend anywhere from 1000-1500$ on a new gaming PC in the next couple months or so. I have all peripherals already, but I may buy a mechanical keyboard and/or a 2nd monitor in the future. The computer will mainly be used for gaming (I'd like max/near max settings 1080p) and everyday use. I don't have experience in overclocking, but I don't mind getting in to it. Oh, I and I live in Canada.

My experience is pretty limited since my previous build was a list of parts selected with help from online forums, and was built through NCIX's services.

I'm upgrading because my previous build has been getting old, and performance isn't enough for some games I play. My graphics card also runs extremely hot even when it's been dusted. Currently I'm running with a Radeon 4890 video card, and a Phenom II 955 processor. I do have a recently purchased Samsung SSD I plan on carrying over to the new computer, as well as an old optical drive.

I also have a suggested build by someone else (http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/T8CRgs), but I'm absolutely open to new build suggestions, thanks!

My current build is...

Case: Antec 300 Mini Tower Gaming Case

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-MA770T-US3P ATX AM3 DDR3

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition AM3 3.2GHz 8mb cache

Graphics: XFX Radeon HD 4890 1GB 900MHz 3.9GHz GDDR5

RAM: Corsair XMS3 TW3X4G1333C9 4GB DDR3 2x2GB DDR3-133 CL 9-9-9-24 Dual Channel

PSU: Antec Earthwatts 650W ATX12V V2.2 EPS12V Active PFC 80PLUS 120mm fan

SSD: Samsung 840 series SSD, 256gb

HDD: WD Caviar Black 640GB 7200RPM 32MB dual proc 3.5IN SATA

CD Drive: Samsung SH-S223F Black 22x

The build that someone else made for you is actually quite nice.

It looks like you want to overclock.  I would suggest a higher wattage power supply.
