HI.
I was looking to get a new pair of headphones for the PC, since my CAL! broke, Im looking for something similar in terms of audio quality or balance. I’ll be using them for gaming, specially RTS , some movies and a bit music. So far the most recommended have been the Ostry KC06 IEMs, and the KIngston Hyper x Cloud headseat , the mic is included in the latter and thats an extra i suppose, i wont be needing the mic much since i dont usually talk to other people while gaming. I was looking at the Superlux HD668B for a economic purchase, but they arent availaible until 3 months and i cant wait that long, there arent many > $100 known good headphones in my country but if you point me the model i can see if its available. Ive been told that open headphones like Senheissers offer better Soundstage than closed ones, thats sth to consider , i dont really need isolation where i live because there isnt too much noise, so open could be an interesting choice, closed would be what im most used to, since the CAL where like this, never tried the open yet, i think a good soundstage is more important than if you can hear whats outside or not
What do you think? if you happen to know of any good models for either type, pls feel free to share them here, thx in advance
Couldnt find the ATH-AD500x, but they would cost at least 90 bucks here. My question now is , whats makes all these headphones different and what are their strongest traits? Which ones stand out the most for the use I intend to give them? I found the HD558 used too, what makes them different than the HD518? I wonder if its worth the extra investment, even more if they arent new. I think the HypexCloud would also be a good choice since they arethe most cheap and not necesarily the worst. What do you think? Thx and I look forward to hearing from you
Nice list, and I suppose the ones that have a tick next to them are the ones you mean. From that list I found the Takstar Monitor Hi2050 at around 54 USD and the Beyerdynamic DT 990 at 240 USD, I posted more in my other reply, I couldnt find all of them though. I would appreciate if you could share your thoughts on what would you recommend for the use im getting them for, and what experiences you've had with them.
If you are primarily looking at gaming you'll want an open headset for better soundstage. If you want better bass for music or movies you should lean towards closed cans. I prefer Beyerdynamic / Audio-Technica but AKG and Philips have some great competition as well.
If you get open cans and want to adjust the bass up, you can globally compensate with software like this.
Hi again, I was thinking going for the following phones: - Corsair 1400 , only model i could find, for $120 - sennheisers HD518 ( these ones cost 200 bucks here, maybe a bit too much) - Audio technicas Mx-30 could be good too , for $107, Mx-50 costs $215, almost double What do you think? Woud it be a good idea to upgrade? i dont have budget issues like before so now i could spend at least 150 bucks, and saving the rest for the DAC or AudioCard Thanks in advance
